Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi has challenged politicians from western Kenya to unite and come up with a clear strategy that will see them elect one candidate to vie for the presidential seat come the 2012 general elections. Mudavadi, who has been reluctant in declaring his interest for the top seat, poured cold water on the move by several politicians, who have already declared their interest in vying for the presidency, terming it as jumping the gun. With 8 politicians from the region already eying the presidency, Mudavadi stated that this was likely to divide them more and limit their chances of success. Chris Thairu reports.
