I tried to add it to the video, but even though the song is over 40 years old and it's already on youtube, YouTube wouldn't let ME post it.
There was discussion on a freestyle yahoo group about teaching dogs the trick of "saying no" (shaking their head from side to side.) So I decided to try completely free shaping my very operant Cattle Dog to shake his head. In just 30 minutes, we have a really great start! I think in one more session he will have it solid and I can put it on cue. When I get another chance to train, I'll set-up the video to get that.
I love seeing this, it's really nice, and I've started clicker training. However, I've only had success with capturing and luring. I think my problem is that Cooper doesn't understand it's what /he/ is doing that is making me click. How do I make that initial connection?

@Candorsmayhem ... Just keep practicing, the "lightbulb" will come on :-) Sometimes if you repeat simple behaviors like sit, down, give paw, etc. the dog will make the connection that often when they DO something, the click occurs.
