@Philtration Because it wasn't competitive in sales... the market interested in a hollow guitar was eaten up by Fender's competitors before the Coronado even hit the market, and most of that market wouldn't be interested in a bolt-on neck. Things may be different these days, of course...

They actually have made three different Hollowbody Models. The Coronado was the first, then there was the hollowbody late 60s Thinline Telecaster (not differentiated from the semi-hollow Thinline that was introduced in '72 with Seth Lover's Wide Range Humbucking pickup. Newer reissues of the 60s Thinline use the 70s Thinline construction methods though), and the Fender Starcaster (not to be confused with the cheap starter pack strat).

@PopExpo The closest thing you can buy to this is a Hagstrom Viking IIP its a bolt on hollowbody 335 shape and P90s I'm probably gonna get one myself when I come into some money

I never understood why Fender moved away from the hollow body.

The Coronado was a great guitar.
