I used to live on VAFB, I remember the sky being reddish-orange on some evenings--I was told it was because of the rockets, not sure if it's true, but I thought it was cool anyway. My classmates at school and I used to run to the windows or outside whenever there was a launch

This whole event was a good demonstration of the US capability to shoot down fast moving targets with relative ease. Nice vid.

Well there has been Russian satalites back during USSR that had nuclear reactors on them which landed in the ocean during failures. There is one off the coast of japan and another reactor in the southern atlantic.
