  • Hi Rombout, Yes NGC7822 is the name of this object. You can reference this target in Google or Astronomy software by this name. Ha is a type of filter used to cover the camera's CCD. I found another great source for astro tutorials last night on YouTube: dg-imaging.astrodon.com/tutorials/ browse this page and check out this tutorial for more info on Astrophotography. I hope to build a library like Don's.

  • Hi Rombout,

NGC7822, 8 hours total of Ha. 15 minute exposures. Parsec 8300M, EON120, and Orion Ha filter.

  • I haven't used Registax in a long time. Good suggestion.

  • Color is a similar approach. I have another tutorial I use for One Shot Color cameras on my website under "Astro Imaging Tutorials" --> "Learning to Use Photoshop Curves" This was an earlier tutorial I did, it works, but it's not as easy as "123".

Maybe I'll do another video tutorial with a Color image.

I'll try to put some files you can practice with too. Thanks!

  • Thanks for the info!! :)

  • Hi Dug,

Thanks for that information. I am not an astrophotographer, so the terminology is all new to me. Could you explain the Ha. 15 minutes, the stacking and the Ha filter. I think I get the NGC7822 (Thats a star system correct?)

ps: connect with me on facebook if you like ok. romboutm makes communication easier ;)

    Thanks!

    Rombout

  • Hi Dug,

Could I ask what EXIF information was in the photo you used? ISO : etc?

    Kind regards!

    Rombout
