  • I call it "..first phase introduction..". Just different semantics.

  • I've never understood how the stutter step isn't considered to be a travel. Maybe someone can clear this up for me.

  • It is because the dribble is not terminated (the hand remains on top of the ball while performing the hesitation). It doesn't matter how many steps you take between dribbles. Basically, you cannot travel while dribbling the ball.

Ideally, what I try to emphasize is getting 3 quick stutter steps as the ball is returning to the hand after hitting the floor. Then, you can either push the ball ahead for the "go" dribble separation...or, you can pick it up to shoot it right there.

  • i'm not hating

but that was weak, in a game with skilled people, the stutter that u did took too much time and the defender would've easily recovered

  • As the description indicates, this is footwork training BEFORE optimization. Not all training is done at full speed, especially during the early neural sequencing stage.

  • Back in my day we called that "begginer drills"

  • awesome drill now do it both sides of the court and from the corners because your not always going to be facing the defender directly or in some cases defenders

  • i like that dummy, i think it get you used that the defender isn't there at all. which is really good.

  • Might have to get the kid to fade away instead of just pull up, the stutter is nice it's a bit slow but it can still work however if the defender is smart honestly he could just jump sideways and block the shot or turn or back peddle and easily recover other then that nice moves lol better then me even though im a center/PF lol

  • So, then if you bounced the ball and its coming back up off the floor then inbetween dribbles you can fu*k around and stutterstep and such? It may sound stupid that I don't really understand the concept of the stutterstep, I just dont want to be called for double dribbling. Thanks for letting me know about it. Appreciate it.
