This is my 1970 Ford Maverick project car... It's about half way through the build and looking pretty good so far.
Check back for more videos of the build up!

  • Nice work... but you should have put a Ford triton V-10 in the Maverick!

  • @fredski53 Dude, that was my first choice. After scouring craigslist and trying to get the parts/weight/horsepower things right...I found this Viper motor/computer/transmission for less than half what I would spend on the Triton motor alone tuned to 600 hp. And this thing is an all aluminum monster that has 525 c.i. for the same weight of a Ford Cleveland block! This car is a freak show for sure, but it is going to be a freak show that hauls.

  • My dad had a '75 Mav., so I understand you wanting this as a base. I would paint it black, with subtle dark blue viper-like striping and have on the fenders "something wicked this way comes" :) Love it so far...

  • @ejdanton Awesome movie reference and great scheme!

  • Hello friend! As this project? What is the model version of this engine? hug

    Maverick Club of Brazil!

  • @FelipeGustavoSantos This is a Gen 3 Viper engine rated at 510 hp and 525 ft.lbs. of torque.

  • @triumph09ful The first thing is to have the computer "flashed" so the anti-theft stuff is turned off and the ECU system is set up to run 4 O2 sensors...2 in front of the catalytic converters and 2 behind...Since I'm not running cats...I'm just using the front sensors. Then it's pretty simple...power and a few relays so you don't melt any wires...I bought a (Gen3) Viper tech. manual on ebay and it's been great, a must spend $40 for your project! Good luck let us know...

  • @Cyrus057 Yeah, those guys at Hot Rod are pretty dang cool.

  • is it done?

  • As far as colors, maybe a deep Shelby metallic blue would be nice, and tie the Mopar motor into the Ford theme since Shelby has done both.

  • @GutlessCutlass I'm blatantly homosexual, and I like the car.

  • @autoedit and how this project?

  • Make an update video :)

  • Absoltuley awsome!!!!! I just sent you my response of my 71 maverick I was restoring in the late 80's. Sure miss it. Was planning on a blower for it but as far as I got was the hood scoop.
