Breakaway, Chapter 5, PART 2 (A Jonas Sister Story)

"Joe did it!"
All of us glanced over to Nick, with a confused stare. He shrugged.
"I'm just being safe. And usually, it is your fault Joe."
"Wow, thanks for always having my back bro."
He held up his hands, in an apologetic way. I nodded at him, with rolling eyes. Dad looked at me suspiciously.
"Did what?"
"Look dad, I can explain-"
"Did what Joe?"
"Kevin did it!"
Kevin shot a glare at me. Mom raised an eyebrow at him.
"Did not! Oprah did!"
Frankie and I burst out laughing, while Nick looked at him like he was crazy. Well, I dont really object. Mom and dad shook their heads with a sigh.
"Okay, boys, whatever is going on, it doesnt matter right now."
I let out a sigh of release when mom said this. Then, I felt safe enough to ask.
"Mom, can you just tell us whats happening. Whats with the official family meeting thing?"
"Well, your father and I have been keeping a secret from you for way too long now. A secret you all deserve to know."
We drew all of attention to every word she was saying. I leaned in a bit closer.
"Boys," she started, with tears forming in her eyes, but then a hard swallow stopped her from crying, "you have a sister."
"What?!"
I jerked up from the floor, and gasped in shock.
"How?! When?! What?!"
"Joe, calm down."
"I will not calm down Nick!"
Kev pulled my arm down, to sit next to him, but I shook it off. I took in a deep breath, then sat back down on the floor. I closed my eyes hard, then sighed again.
"How old is she?"
"Shes 12."
My eyes widened as I heard how long this secret has been kept for me. From all of us. Maybe, even from her.
"Why isn't she here?"
"Well, you may not know this, but after we had Nick, our family went thru sort of a bankruptcy. We couldnt afford to take care of her. We wanted her to have a better life. My best friend Nancy, and her husband Ben adopted her from us, and then moved away because of a job offer."
Mom shook her head, disappointed.
"Well, her mom and I sort of had an argument about how to raise her, and we haven't had contact for years. I tried to get her back when your father got a better job, and when Nick started to sing and earn money from Broadway. But I couldn't find her. Years past, Joe got onto Broadway as well, and Kevin got a bunch of commercials. Our family was doing great, but I still couldn't find her."
"So, you still don't know where she is?"
"Actually, Nancy some how found my e-mail."
"How?"
"How do fans find our address?"
"Oh."
My brothers and I sighed at the same time, and said all together,
"Internet."
"Exactly."
There was a short moment of silence, then Nick asked,
