  • Mr. Hannan continues to try to use logic on people who don't use any. Keep it up, one day you might make them think.

  • I guess the differance between the Parliament and the U.S. Congress is that the former has mostly empty SEATS, and the later has mostly empty HEADS, however BOTH can arrive at the same stupid policies. AMAZING!!!!

    Pactio Olisipiensis censenda est

which means "The Lisbon Treaty must be given a vote". This is a reflection of the famous words with which Cato the Elder ended every speech he made in the Roman Senate calling upon the people and Senate of Rome to recognise the danger of Carthage to the Roman state and the need to destroy it before it destroyed Rome. He ended his speeches with the words:

    Carthago delenda est

which means "Carthage is to be destroyed".

    Thanks, Google!

  • this man speaks the truth... care to listen anybody? the EU has been a private money club since it's inception - from the joining of steel and coal industries for the exclusive benefit of the opening members (france, benelux, germany and italy) tothe disastrous CAP which is morally incomprehensable and directly responsible for what has happened to english farming methods/traditions and for the overwhelming poverty which persists in africa, they pretend this dumping below market price is aid?WTF?

  • he makes it all so sound so easy.

  • there are disadvantages as well - in 10 years we would only have US-style agriculture in the EU if it were scrapped.. and it can only be done if France and Germany are temporarily kicked out of the EU...

  • "ERE ..... WHAT WERE THAT LAST QUIP AT THE END - WE DONT SPEAK LATIN DOWN THESE PARTS!

  • visit viEUws.eu to see what other MEPs have to say about the CAP and the Commission's proposed reform of it for 2013. viEUws

  • @totallytempo

That word would be sovereignty. Consumer sovereignty. Not producer-tyranny. Since mankind produces in a division of labour to take a greater product from it than he could gain by non-cooperative production, he is led to mutually-adjust to use his capacities in some way to serve his fellow men. When producers gain the power to force consumers to patronise their wares then they have abrogated the cooperation principle and do not wish for efficiency. This fucks the consumer-everyone!

  • I love daniel hannan. Scrapping the cap would be one the best things for this world. It would pump nearly $4B into 3rd world economies, and our food would be cheaper. It also would save the EU tens of millions collectively, and would cost nothing. It would be like beyond epic win FTW. It would be like Epic win-epic win- epic win. The policy win would be so big, we'd need a word winner than win.

  • u r not alone in that.

our food economy is run for the benefit of Arthur Daniels Midland. They buy the representatives and their integrity is ground up into small pieces, which is then feed to us in soilent green.
