well hold on, if he starts on a four string and then moves to 5 string its gets confuzing, id say start with 5 string, they're not much more expensive than 4 string

If your new to bass i would suggest a 4 string 1. your new so you dont really need to fork out on a reeaallyy expensive bass and the 4 string with save you around 3-4 hundred pounds/dollars and 2. seeing as your newish you wanna really master your 4 strings before you move on to an extra B, hope this helps. p.s i find 4 string stings are more eye catching....lol maybe just me

If you people can't count, there are 5 strings on that bass. its not funny because johhny christ uses that guitar so he obviously uses 5 string bass.
