The whole "goth" movement isn't a subculture, it's still a stereotype that is based on preference in music and a clothing style. It most certainly is not a way of life, because it can be changed at any minute by just changing clothing styles or listening to different music. Obviously, I know more than you if I have enough sense to know a stereotype when I see one.
