Tank driving - 6 July 2008
I got a day's "tank driving" (strictly speaking off-road vehicles, an APC and a self-propelled gun, but who cares) at Galloway Tanks (www.gallowaytanks.co.uk) for my birthday. I'm slowly cutting together a more coherent video, but for now I'll just post the clips in their unedited form. Better is to come.
In this clip, I'm driving the Alvis Stalwart 6x6 fully-amphibious truck up the slope near the start of the course. Turns out there's nothing for the poor sods in the back to hang on to - whoops. In any case, the Stolly's great fun to drive; you have to keep the revs up so the engine doesn't stop, and the steering wheel feels like it's not actually connected to anything... Great fun.
@hussar01 Absolutely true, of course, and what I always tell people when they refer to it as tank driving (thus the "strictly speaking not tanks" remark in the description). But this way my friends can find the videos when they forget what they're actually called... ;-)

Not a tank! But nevertheless can go almost anywhere a tank can plus swim, a much underrated vehicle, fun to drive
