Genre: FMV/Adventure
Publisher: Time Warner Interactive
Developer: Digital Fusion
Year: 1993

The forces of DOSBox and Windows 3.1 join together for the first time in channel history to bring you a whole new world of terrible, confusing FMV games!

First, a little background: This game was made by a guy named Pepe Moreno, who Wikipedia says is a Spanish comic book writer and illistrator who did some Batman comic back in the 90's. His article also says a little bit about the game:

Perhaps one of Pepe's most endearing projects is Hell Cab. Completed in 1993, the title was an industry first and an instant classic. Hell Cab was an interactive time travel adventure with a moral twist, published by the Time Warner Interactive Group (formerly Warner New Media) on CD-ROM. Hell Cab's highly anticipated and extensively covered first press run sold out within a week of its release. The title became a best-seller hit and a classic. Hell Cab was one of first ever CD-ROM titles and helped establish the popularity of the CD-ROM title business by setting standards in originality of content and form. Hell Cab was designed as a mainstream Hollywood-like title, and that sense won the title the number one rating for 1993 in Billboard magazine."

Not quite in time for Halloween, Hell Cab puts YOU in the role as 'some dude from New York', fighting for his life and immortal soul inbetween casual conversations about sightseeing with SATAN HIMSELF.

Plus, a super special bonus feature! Watch some unfunny comedian make unfunny jokes about sports! But wait, there's more! Thrill as you watch me fart around some advertisement for an interactive CD-ROM for some band from the 60's!

Sorry about all the crashes. I don't know if it's my copy or what, because the problem seems to be that the game can't find certain videos when it needs them. If I figure it out, maybe I'll redo this video.

Part 2 coming soon!

  • Hello anyone here knows how i can play this game; i have original cd-rom but obviusly is from 1993=S any idea please tell me.

  • @purpureprinz You'll need a program called DOSBOX. There's a ton of tutorials online and on Youtube on how to get it working.

The hard part, however, is getting Windows 3.1 or 95 running on DOSBOX, because you WILL need that to play this game. I can't really tell you where to find that.

  • I got this game in a package of cheap games at a computer show. Unfortunately, I wasn't allowed to play it due to the title.

I guess my Dad had my best interests at heart. He saved me from playing a truly terrible "game".

  • @Uchuuneko Too bad he didn't let you play Hell: The Cyberpunk Thriller, either. I mean, at least that had Dennis Hopper in it.

  • I remember everything, the demos, the game. Thank you so much for sharing!

  • @peniche311 No problem! It surprises me how popular this thing's been getting, really.

  • awww so many memories, I used to play this game when I was a like 10. And what I still remember I had the spanish version. I think I might still have de cd-rom :)

  • @purpureprinz what about running in compatibility mode?

  • Man, I've been meaning to add Hell Cab to my collection for ages now. This video confirms my suspicion that it is totally worth whatever it may cost, haha.

  • Yeah I remember finding the CD of this game in the deep depths of my aunt's closet. The disc was scratched to hell unfortunately so I couldn't really see what the game was like.

  • 7:09 Pick an "evil" choice and it takes 10 or 20 points off your soul (depending on which, like 20 for, "Guns don't kill people, I do.") and makes a "devilish" sound effect.

8:19 That punk Raoul took them all and asked for more! :-)
