  • Thanks for this as the current anti-trust trial of Novell v. William Gates is ongoing, and this device is only one of many analogues for the example of Wordperfect v. Microsoft Word, imho.

Check your local or national news for accounts of that trial in Salt Lake City.

Someone should ask Bill about a certain video interview I saw in 1994 in Vegas at COMDEX...

I believe he has some explaining to do re the unavailability of Win '95 on the DTR-2, after its inventor had to close out the DTR-1.

  • You see, IBM literally forced the premature delivery of ALL units on their line at their fabrication facility, before Mr. Yung was contractually required to take delivery, and Bill could be viewed at Comdex '94 stating that such devices would not even exist for another decade, while I held one on my lap watching the vid in Vegas.

  • yer lucky

  • @MrStanislavb Current is 2.1 Amps, so a 7AH 12V Gell-cell should keep it going for about 2.5 hours.

  • @PlatinumMic

thanks, and what about current, amperes?

  • @MrStanislavb Power supply voltage is 12V, center positive. Battery pack is 7.2V.

Like other people I seek spare pens, and a replacement hard drive.

  • My former babysitter got one of these when they were new, she lent it to me in 2000, it worked very well, but I couldn't get the lightpen to work, even with new batteries, I think the old batteries had rusted. It's a very interesting computer. Of course Windows for PEN computing really didn't do well, Microsoft tried to revive pen computers or tablet PC's as the came to be known, but their efforts weren't all that successful, were they/

  • how much who that cost now a days?? because i have one too :)

  • What is voltage of power supply (cable and battery). I've got one but have lost AC adapter and the battety is over now.

  • I would be willing to sell my Dauphin DTR-1 for a decent offer.

It's in excellent condition, in original case, with manuals, box, and all attachments (including the pen).
