  • Phepheron- Is it only a backbox or is it full catback (backbox+centerpipe)? Nice sound bro. I have a Supersprint backbox, but I find it to quiet. How does this Vortex work during a fast drivin'? Isn't it too noisy?

  • @zaquez79 It's a backbox + deresonated centerpipe, both Afterburner. I like to listen boxer rumble, so the sound don't bother me, but still ,it isn't too loud even during fast drive.

This is one year old setup, today I have decat uppipe, decat 3" shorty downpipe, stock midpipe with cat and remained this catback. Maybe will post a clip, how it sounds.

  • No, all of three catalysts are still on the car. It is just catback system - system beyond the third (last) cat. This system theoretically gained 22HP on Impreza GT, something like that should gained also on WRX if you can belive their dyno graphs... But in practical, the power acquire is obvious and those little bangs from exhaust when you put into lower gear and slowly release the clutch, really assume you over and over again. =D You will not be sorry if you buy it.

  • This is just what I wanted to hear. I don't want to buy the whole system because honestly it costs too much and I would only buy it because of the sound, I don't need (more than 22Hp) extreme performance.

AND I like that there is no fire coming out of the exhaust because i guess the police would not like that one bit. ;)

Thank you for the answer, and take good care of your car.

  • Crazy sound!

You did not replace the catalyst?

Approximately how many horsepower did you gain?

I myself am interested in the purchase of an afterburner, and i very much like the sound of yours.
