The Hayes Clan punt their fully decked-out Mitsu Triton complete with new BFG Muddies against the Gilmore Clan's Range Rover Sport with Cooper A/T's.

The Result: You can't beat traction when it comes to mud!

  • does the triton or range rover have an intercooler?

  • @william49suzuki The Sport has an intercooler and one of the big jobs is keeping the mud out of it. The intercooler is set very low at the front of the engine and there is actually now a kit available for a high mount intercooler with wider fins specifically designed for offroad.

At $1400 its still a ways down the list of options I need to bolt on.

    Rock sliders are next ;-)

  • range rover the way its suppose to be used lol it looks like a beast

  • @TheMr3742 Since that trip it has a new winch on the front and bash plate along with some big spotties on the roof plus bigger muddies. Positively beastie now ;-)

  • In the mudpit at around 1:15 or so, why did the rr sport have the wheels turned to the right instead of going right through?

  • @bcatz454 I was joking with my mate in the Triton about how good the Cooper A/T's were and was bragging that they could even pull me out of the deep ruts on this well known puddle. It was close but no cigar this time. We've done this section more than a few times for fun and it was just a bit of experimenting to see how far I could push it.

Must remember to go back and try out the new STT Muddies on that section.
