Most of the viewers are heavily biased, but in the end all you can blame him for is not loving her... Think about it this way: Who is more selfish - a guy who wants the best for himself AND the girl (because she at least gets the chance to be loved be someone else truly) or Mimi who wants to live with him forever even though it should be clear to this point for her that is NOT what he wants?

Well, life isn't so black and white as most of the people here suggest. Try to look at this through his point of view: for him, the relationship is OVER, and he tries all his best to convince her that it's over. I mean, what sort of a woman would still be with you if you degraded her on an everyday basis? Her obsession with him has got to end, so he really does what it takes to make her despise him, so it would be easier to cure her affection. Though everytime he tries this, her affection grows.
