This is an initial review of the Eberlestock X4 HiSpeed Pack. Eberlestock packs are my favorite, and have been for about 4 years. I was torn on doing this review, but thought that honesty was the best option, and to provide a review on a product that has not been reviewed yet.

Another written review for a taller man, stated that his fit fine; however, when he looked at others, he found various QC problems, including the adjustment ladder. There just seems to be a QC issue with this line, at the time of this video's production.

The retailer I purchased this pack from, is a very customer oriented business and offered no hesitation in my desire to return the X4. I am very appreciative of this, as it is indeed a rarity to find good customer service in the last few years.

  • I just got the X3 Lodrag and I had the same problem as you. I am 5'9" but have broad shoulders and a wide chest which caused the bag to not fit right. I know it is not an ideal solution for a brand new bag, but I ordered the Long replacement shooters harness and it completely fixed the fitment issue. I really cannot say I have any other problems with the bag other than possibly the angled PALS/MOLLE webbing on the sides of the panels. The scabbard is awesome too, fits my Sako TRG22 perfectly.

  • @WolfpackFD3S I'm glad you found a fix that worked. Too bad you had to pay extra for something that should have worked as it came. I traded mine back to the retailer for the Little Brother. I should have kept the X4. I will have a review on it shortly.

  • The military green looks like foilage, i wish eberlestock had olive drab, like the one from vietnam. I loooove that green, great review

  • @20GATE91 Thanks. They did have OD, as well as other variants. They opted to do away with the various greens and standardize on one.

  • Would also like to see a way to strap items on the bottom without the use of PALS. Rain gear, lightweight and compressed sleeping gear, pop-up tent, etc would all be good candidates for that spot.

I placed my rifle in the scabbard and it inserts and removes easily. They updated the scabbard to accommodate the more "tactical" rifles with detachable mags, larger scopes, and bigger adjustable stock systems.

Overall, this is a great hunting pack for out here in Colorado.

    Thanks for your vide

  • Just got my X3 LoDrag. I'm 5'5" and it does fit me well as it came. Have not tried adjusting it for use with a taller person but can see how it could be an issue; as someone of shorter stature, this pack is welcome to hitch a ride on my shoulders.

I see your point about the slanted webbing. I'll be sure to address that in my initial field testing as it may be a non-issue in practice.

I agree that the compression side straps should have been the buckle type. Would also like to see a way to s

  • @DrummerThree I know. As much as I like their packs, the website information is inconsistent at best. They really need to standardize their information across all packs, post up pics, videos, etc. There is no reason nowadays not to do so.

  • @faolbushcraft Thanks a lot for your reply and your review! There isn't a lot of info for this bag on the official site.

  • Thanks for the vid sir, I almost ordered this pack tonight but thought I would check to see if there were any reviews out there. Glad I did. Thanks again

  • @DrummerThree Yes. They are held in with velcro behind the lumbar pad, on all models that I have had.

    Thanks.
