  • Thanks for all these great tips. I was looking for tips to improve home videos and this has been a great help. Really like the aluminum foil tip.

  • @marykme Glad to hear it!

  • hey are you a movie director or do you know any movie directors because i wanna be a movie director when i grow up :)

  • @ziggerification A good place to meet some directors is on the Videomaker forums at the Videomaker website. We have a lot of aspiring and professional video directors posting there who might be able to give you some tips.

  • Check out Camera Mount Clamp dot com

  • Or you could just use a Go Pro HD (£250) like the BBC and Channel 5 use.

  • She forgot the very best technique of all - clamping the camera to the car's door with your hand out the window. It works AWESOME!

  • @ziggerification If you really want to be a director you should check out the New York Film academy where they teach you Film, Acting, Cinematopgraphy, Photography etc. All you need is a High school Diploma, be able to speak English and a have a love for movies. I can already tell you have 2 of the 3 requirements already.

  • 2:20 I'm a homeschooler and our family van is a 15 passenger. I guess that doesn't qualify as old fasioned

  • Hi - interesting tips.

How do you decide what focus mode to set ( automatic or manual). It was not discussed.

I like to include those big street sign boards that tells you the name of attraction, the distance to reach there. At 35 mph, would it be too fast to capture these moving sign boards? I tried zooming in to catch the signboard and unzoom later to show the background scenery. My experience is, better to pull over and take the still shot instead. What do you think?
