  • That rock on the left is better suited and has more bacteria hence the seeding on the left. Leave that rock there man. Leave it be . The whole tank will turn golden brown after the cycle and just be patient. Your skimmer is going crazy cause the life in the rock is probably suffering from the heat issues. Get a fan to blow water on the surface for now. Get a chiller fast before the new rock arrives because you will kill the critters on the new rock coming. A chiller will require another pump.

  • @newyorksteelo What pump would you suggest, i guess i will be buying a JBJ Arctica 1/10 chiller, Mag 5 or Mag 7? Thanks Steelo!

  • Awesome man, It's a great skimmer. Was I not right about this skimmer? lol. How in the world did you get a crack on the collection cup? Call AquaC and tell them that your collection cup came cracked. They will replace it for you and fast. AquaC customer service is the best there is for skimmers from my personal experiences.

  • @newyorksteelo Thanks man, that skimmer is a beast and it only took 3-4 days to break in! The collection cup is the only disappointment, i soon as i took it out of the box, i realized that i need to be extra careful with it, but it still falling apart, i don't know maybe it was dropped in transit... I will give AquaC a call tomorrow, see what they can do about it... Thanks for everything Steelo!

  • @sputnik790 They will replace it for sure if you tell them that it came like that and send you one for free. When you get the new one, don't rinse it with very hot water, only with warm water ans the hot hot water will cause cracking on acrylic. Also, don't drop it for nothing when cleaning it. Hold on to it like if it were your balls you are holding in your hands haaa haaa haa lol. Just joking but you get the point.

  • @newyorksteelo Hehehe..... nice one!

  • u should put blue legged hermit craabs they eat algea and fix ur bedding.

  • Just wondering why you chose to go with a 50 gal. tank? I don't care for 55 gal but I like the tanks in the 45 to 60 gal. range. There is a 58 gal reef tank that is probably my favorite.

  • What did you end up doing with the skimmer? Did you buy a chiller?

  • Where did you get your stand? Can I get one online anywhere?

  • @sputnik790 Either will work. Check out the chillers specification online.
