I don't know much about the drummer and xylophonist Hans Byttner, except that he led his own band by the early 'fourties. Also, he recorded a total of three solo sides through his career. Here is one of them, also featuring a decent clarinetist.

Recorded Sep. 26 1935, and issued on HMV X 4517.

By the way, I don't know why my recent uploads have been "compressed" sideways. All the labels are circular in real life, and they look all right on my computer.

  • @phonomono78s Yes, the xylophone seems to be one of those instruments that have always recorded well. I often play xylophone solos to demonstrate my gramophones.

  • @northatlantic78rpm Jag blev nästan överlycklig när jag hittade den här i min favorit-skivaffär (som väldigt sällan får in nya 78:or), och dessutom i såpass bra skick! Tack för din kommentar!

  • @realluggo Thanks! I like it myself, and I enjoy sharing it with you!

  • Beautiful recording. Love xylophone recordings.

  • Hans Byttner var den svenske Teddy Brown. Rigtig god og velbevaret 78'er.

  • Beautiful, thank you
