20 June 1980 RESISTANCE against Khomeini born.1of5

20 June 1980 was a land mark in the resistance history of the Iranian people. Khomeini has usurped the uprising and was planning to establish a religious dictatorship. This was rejected by the PMOI in the beginning of Khomeini's reign, when he was very much respected by the Iranian people and when his real nature had not been exposed. It was the beginning of deceit; he had just managed to change the constitution into a religious one, which was boycotted by the PMOI, saying that religion should not be involved into politics. At one point he openly defied those who did not vote saying they have no right to any political right. Ad this was when 2 fronts began to shape, one the Party of God belonging to Khomeini and his followers, and the other a front formed by the PMOI inviting all progressive forces to unite. Seeing this Khomeini realized that the PMOI, is the centre of change, and aped to rid this movement. PMOI meetings and bookstores were attacked by civil dressed men and hooligans and attacked became gradually systematic. By the first 3 months 23 supporters of this group were knifed, or killed in various places, under various pretexts. The PMOI which knew exactly that Khomeini is closing all political doors , preserved and asked supporters no to react with violence till it became necessary for real defense. To clarify the situation and to show the Iranian people of the real face of the newly evolved fundamentalism which was forming an intrusive government, the PMOI asked their supporters to join a peaceful rally on 20 June 1980. This mobilization was done in a matter of hours. It was a test for Khomeini's young tyranny, to either allow pacific political demonstration or show a true side, a side no one has ever seen. This way if there was any ways for conituned peaceful opposition like many other democracies, and then be it and if not all should know about it.
On that day Khomeini gave order to kill on sight, all supporters of the PMOI.
Many were killed and those taken into prisons were killed later.
In a matter of 3 hours 500 000 people marched in Tehran asking for political freedom. At that time the PMOI had become very popular. Its publication had more inception than the officially supported Keyahn news paper. The Mojahed news paper had 500 000 publication
The next morning of the aftermath, photos of 13 and 15 year olds appeared in the news paper with a note of the officials asking for their parents to pick their bodies.. They had been killed by hit squads on the streets as they had been arrested..!!
After this Khomeini gave a fatwa against the PMOI, their supporters that they should be killed, maimed, their hands and feet cut or if caught thrown off a cliff, because they acted against religious sacred values- referring to his orders of obeying the newly altered constitution...
Then the resistance began
