Why isn't this considered racist? If whites perpetuated this same ideology, there would be cries of racism. The only way to dismantle racism is to do away with it entirely, not parse out good racism and bad racism.

@JohnRLange : There is nothing racist about a desire to preserve the work and art of one's culture.
More importantly, educational Institutions that were established for African-Americans was done so out of necessity. Not as an act of racism, but as a response to it. For many years, Blacks (for the most part) were not allowed to attend "White" Universities.
These institutions are not exclusively Black (only predominantly). Non-Black students are more than welcome to study and enroll there.
