Such a better series to watch and follow than the IRL. The CART Series had the attention of the F1 community, even if it was negative at times. I'll remember the CART series as the height of American racing.

Those cars were slammed! You can't even see under the noses when they come over the crest of the front straight hill.
With their low stance and low sidepods they were some of the coolest looking open wheel cars.

TG had the right ideas.
Cost cutting, more ovals and price caps. He didn't want CART to become F1.
However, the IRL should not exist. TG should have started a team and that would have given him greater influence on rules, tracks etc.
He should have been prepared to accept a compromise, but CART should have offered him a better one.
Together they destroyed american open wheel racing.
