jaysus dude where in korea did u exactly reside? lmao sounds like u were either stuck in the boonies or u lived in isolated island of korea..? i guess u haven't been to the great, financially wealthy neighborhoods n area's of korea like kangnam or busan etc..they would've changed ur views of what u've currently stated..hehe :D but yeah i hear ya cause on my first ever visit to korea as a jhs graduation present in '98 it really put me in a total culture shock n kinda sucked as well..

Oh my~ I think if you went back to Korea again, you would be shocked by how much it has changed! Seriously it is a really fast developing country. I went to Korea this past summer, I did not notice any bad smells or see people squatting on the sidewalk. You NEED to go to a city if you think places are run down. Driving IS terrifying, and mosquitoes are horrible. Also they wouldn't let me keep a fan on all night. MOST celebrities and movies there are Korean now though. LOVED my experience there!
