Excellent and depressing. Excellent - cos America hung onto its great engineering triumphs and symbols of courage and nation. Depressing - cos my country, Britain, which invented the carrier, and the battleship, scrapped every single one of them. None remain. Total travesty.
She was my dads first aircraft carrier...and was used in the movie MIDWAY my dad was the red head that carried Eddie Albert J.R off when he crashed on the flight deck.
To acknowledge one who knows nothing and is probably a worthless pice of garbage would only enhance his pathetic existance,,,, I served on the Lex many years ago, she was my home and I hold dear the memories of my shipmates and the life aboard!
i got to stay 2 nights on that ship and it was really cool, at night they had a guy that would tell all these ghost stories and all the other kids got scared but the beds were just a solid peice of metal
