These are my series from the Aurora City Championships. I have plenty of things to work on and to be able to get these implements moving out there with my still developing technique is very promising.

Shot Put series-53,53,50,54'8"
Discus series-161,foul,168,169'2"

  • Looks great, but not perfect! I´d say that your position in 1:23 looks great, but after that, you have to move forward in the ring, meaning that your left foot has to stop turning. This will help you get more linear speed into the PP.

  • i know!!!! I have been noticing that recently and I have been doing it a lot. it has been absolutely killing me in discus with throws down the left sector line and shot put it hasn't hurt me too much by doing it but im sure it will help me if i stop. any advice on how to stop it?

  • i like the sequencing, u have like absolutely perfect form

  • i would not say that at all but thank you very much for the comment. I practice hard and I am getting better but there is plenty more left for me to do. I have to reach 60 feet!

  • Hey im a thrower from Jr high and my highest is 56 iwent to throwing camp and i use the rotational ,my farthest discus throw is 163 it was on my first meet this year.

  • good stuff man! keep up the good work. i think you said you were in jr. high and you said you throw 56 which is very impressive that young! great job in the discus too.

  • I have only been practicing for three weeks and im a sophmore i threw about 130 in discus and about 43 in shotput i've never thrown before ever is tht goodd?

  • when you are in your power u could be more torqued and that will give you more but right now you are opening up your shoulders with your hips keep shoulders back a bit and it will go better

  • If you were to look at the vectors, you would want to drive halfway between the middle of the vectors and the right vector, crossing the right over so you have tons of separation. I saw your 59' vid which shows progression, but that will help even more. And don't let your block arm open you up so easy after 1:23. If you are a lil more patient and then get around you will throw huge.

  • I had the same problem once, and what I worked on, was to "stop the hip". Meaning that once you get into the position at 1:23, your hip has to continue pointing in the direction af the throw until your left foot leaves the ground. It will probably feel odd at first, but when you get used to it, your PP will be great!
