  • I'm in the process of attempting my first loaf and glad I found your videos. You mentioned doing a short video on a sandwich loaf but I couldn't find it.

I'm very curious about the oil mister you use. What brand/model is it?

  • @mr2aqua There's a sandwich loaf recipe on my web site under "Almost No Knead" recipe. That particular oil sprayer isn't made any more. There's another in the Breadtopia store that's just as good.

  • just type "oil mister for cooking" on amazon and there you go..

  • I saw on another video of the Cook's Illustrated method that the baker was able to remove the bread from the Dutch oven after baking by just picking up the edges of the parchment paper -- which were NOT hot! (although the Dutch oven & the bread itself was). That trick seems worthy of adopting with other bread-baking recipes as well!

  • Demonstrating moving the loaf into the dutch oven he kinda failed to mention the dutch oven is going to be FIVE HUNDRED DEGREES, and should not be touched with bare hands. (Yes, I'm glad he showed wearing mitts for the actual hot cloches.)

  • I used 10 oz. of whole wheat flour and 5 oz. of white...also used only 1 tsp of salt. I added a hand-full of raw sunflower seeds as well. We'll see how it turns out tomorrow when I bake it.

  • Well-done video. Very enlightening. Thanks for posting it.

  • The long loaf looks to be the more flavorful of the two! What a teaser your video did to my saliva glands!!

I'm going to look in the part one to see how the bread construction came about.

    Thanks,

    SteelBuster
