@pedrovnb Yeah, Steel types are really annoying to deal with in CC. Especially since you're not supposed to play with Team Preview, so there's no way of knowing whether you NEED to save your fire/ground/fighting-type moves.
-
the one thing i dont like in challenge cup, is that when my oponet has a steel type pokemon, i never have ground or fire type moves --'
-
weak both of you
-
That's a really unusual game type.
-
@WildZangoose If you prefer PO battles to DS battles, then let's just say you're not my target demographic.
-
How innovative, yet i don't think it's really worth the time when you get the same thing on PO. But i'm sure it can be expanded on and made better.

I think I saw wilechase battling someone in a challenge cup double battle at some point
-
@shadowsa2b Because up until yesterday, it didn't work with Pokegen. Now it does.
-
@shadowsa2b Well then you're in luck! The new version works with Pokegen as well as Pokesav.
-
question: the link says it doesnt work with pokegen (why?) but it also has a strike through it. so does it work or doesnt it?
-
pokegen is better than pokesav imho. much simpler interface
cool battle. looks tough to do with so much randomness
-
@Antar1011 Getting your rocks up would've REALLY helped you.
-
Way more enjoyable matches this way.
-
This seem very intresting.

@IAmBadatStarcraft @Chagal070 CC4Wifi now works with Pokegen. Just FYI.
-
@pokemonrules9 Oh.So sad, I thought it was the first one :( No problem, the battle was really cool anyway!
-
@WAMBAM93 I imagine he won't do that, since (1) no control over the pokemon he gets and (2) it's probably "cheating" in his mind (he doesn't count Little Cup kills, does he?)
-
@IslandBros15 It's actually a pretty good one for Challenge Cup: Metal Burst / Mud Slap / Double Team / Stealth Rock. When I switched it in that turn, I was expecting to be able to get my rocks up.
-
These battles are all so unpredictable and fun :)

@greeneee789 I'm pretty sure Pokemon Showdown--aesoft's new simulator--is implementing this. Possibly by culling usable pokemon straight from user's teams (that's how *I* would do it). But to me, at least, the fun part is the trolliness of "YES! I GOT AN ARCEUS! Crap--it's at Lv. 63, and it's only attacking move is Incinerate." and then proceeding to get beaten by a Lv. 90-something Litwick.
-
This is a cool idea. It may be better, however, if there was a pre-existing database of usable pokemon from which each player would be assigned 6 pokemon. For example, when you go into the Battle Tower/Subway, the computer randomly selects Pokemon for your opponents to use, but those random Pokemon are pulled from a pool of pre-existing sets. If you did it like this, everyone would still have decent Pokemon, but there would still be the fun random aspect.
-
The idea is interesting.
