Todd and an unknown man risk their own safety to save two stranded deers off the frozen Mississippi River at Godfrey IL along the Great River Road. They are HEROS!

Hello thesundays1973, The deer was still there in the morning were it had been moved to a sheltered wooded area. It could not still stand. So Todd and two wildlife officers took the deer to a shelter were it was rehabed and was released back into the wild. the people involved in this rescue were true heros.

Thanks MrMonty08, It was avery cold winter day and those guys that went out on the ice covered river were not only brave but very caring men. Todd was determined to get those deer off the river and not allow them to die stranded on the frozen river.

Thanks lisalrocks, It was awesome to be there that day and be able to be part of the rescue. The men that risked their lives to save the deer are the greatest!

Thanks so much for your comment. I agree with you there was danger involved in this rescue, but as Todd (the rescuer on skis) expressed to me that he thought he could get then off the ice and he had a plan. He also said that he had heard others say "let nature have its way", he did agree with that opinion. Yes indeed, thank goodness the rescue went with out any casualties. For these were caring and brave men that put their lives on the line to save the deer.

Hello ironfixxer, Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the video of the deer rescue by some awesome people. I was using the canon power shot SX30 which is a camera and recorder. I'm able to snap photos while recording, which is very nice also. It does has this wonderful HD recorder. It just recently came out on the market this fall. I love the camera and its recording capabilities. Thanks for the comment.
