Me conducting the IAHS A Cappella Choir at their 2008 Holiday Choral Concert. This was during the last week of my student teaching. The arrangement of the piece (more commonly known as Rachmaninoff's "Bogoroditse Devo") features the latin "Ave Maria" text all while using the same music as the original Russian.

  • good job!

  • Interesting performance of Rachmaninoff piece with Latin lyrics... Although I do prefer original Russian lyrics. Keep up the good work, and please - try it in Russian.

  • pretty good for a HS choir... a little mechanical at times and pitchy but overall not bad... This is my fov choral piece ever written and you guys did a great job...

  • My only concern is with the interpretation of this piece. Obviously these are high school students, but the tempo seems rushed and I don't understand all of the bounciness. This isn't "How Excellent Thy Name oh God", this is a flowing Romantic Era style prayer. Why such a sharp cut off at "plena" at :29? And I find 1:23 to be startling. Anyway, I wish you the best with your career. I just coach voice and have been running sectionals and co-directing groups for a few years. I'm not there yet.
