Great advice. :) I had the same thing - one of my hens nested in the grit pot - I emptied the grit, put a nest felt in the grit pot and she very happily raised a baby in there! I also had a canary who made a nest in the corner of an armchair in my living room and hatched out a baby there! My canaries are pets, btw, I'm not a breeder - I let my girls (I have 6 girls and 3 boys and they all live happily together) nest where they want in their cage and put the nest pan where the seed cup is. :)
