During our motorcycle trip to Montana this summer, my girlfriend Liz and I stopped at Ringing Rocks, near Pipestone. Like the sign at the opening says, the rocks emit a bell-like tone if hit with a hammer or another rock. If the roacks are taken from the location, they will no longer ring. Since most of the ones that ring are essentially boulders, I can't say whether or not it's true.
