those are huge traces, what are the boards for?

The reason we used bigger traces was that it is better for the environment--or so we are told. Instead of etching away all that copper our teacher told us it is better (probably less resistance; not really sure)
The circuits were made for an outlay for the speaker components. One for low frequency and the other for high frequency. We really didn't have to make those circuit boards. The circuits board just made the whole layout look neater.
