Race Tightens Slightly, But Early Voters Favor Obama

In Gallup Poll Daily tracking, conducted Oct. 25-27, Barack Obama has a slight edge over John McCain among the traditional model of likely voters, 49% to 47%. But,among those who have already voted, Obama leads McCain 53% to 43%.

I believe McCain is the middle ground. He is the only one with real military experience (something that was lacking in Bush and also lacking in Obama). It will be another great irony of history if Obama is the one that ends up bombing all Muslims, making W. look like the appeaser.

@mariliadeverdade: Are we damned if he was never a Muslim? Really, for any Muslim (or non-Muslim) who thinks that he's either still a Muslim or an apostate, well, that's their problem. I'll tell you the truth. I'm more afraid of some white racist trying to kill Obama than I am of any Muslim trying to. As for Obama's politics, isn't there any middle ground between appeasing terrorists and bombing all Muslims? I think that Obama could have solutions that Muslims and non-Muslims could live with.

@mariliadeverdade: Part 2 - You say that you don't think Obama's a Muslim, yet you start with "Is Obama still a Muslim?" That sentence's meaning is simple. It means that you 1) believe that he was once a Muslim and 2) think that there's a possibility that he might still be one.

As for what Muslims say, I've heard it said that "every child is born Muslim" but I don't put any stock in that belief. Are YOU still a Muslim? If you don't believe what they do, there's no reason to use their logic.

@mariliadeverdade: Part 1 - First of all, I don't speak for Obama, so whatever I say to you is not what you can expect from Obama, just like if a McCain supporter says "Obama supporters should be deported", I don't put those words into McCain's mouth. Secondly, I said, "How about...?" This means that it's a "suggestion", not a "threat" or "command". I can't make you shut up, and I wouldn't if I could.

The daughter of a Muslim father and a Christian mother, she spent her childhood in Islamabad, Pakistan, where she studied Islam at school.

@mariladeverdade: Stop the misinformation. Obama was never a Muslim. His father was a non-practicing Muslim, and nobody killed him. Obama wasn't raised as a Muslim. And, by the way, terrorists would be happy to kill ANY president. And, far from being "tested", you merely need good security. How about keeping your ignorant mouth shut if you can only lie.
