@babyshambler Thanks

"he does comedy, but does it as if he is better than it"... lol. i think that really sums up lee's wildly intelligent n subversive brand of comedy. in my personal opinion stewart lee, dylan moran n eddie izzard are the finest stand up comics of our generation. intellectuals who treat comedy like a post-modern art form which does what it says on the can, but at the same time doing a satirical running commentary on the can. that's clever n beyond the realm of most standard stand up comedians.

Well, Mr MacIntyre certainly isn't to everyone's taste but without those kind of acts, Mr Lee would have nothing to subvert.

MacIntyre.

Laughter doesn't seem the right response to his humour. I find the audience laughs in the wrong places e.g. when he swears.
"The Office" sitcom was much better without audience laughter. And "The League of Gentlemen".
Are there any videos of Stewart talking straight to camera?

@jak546 heard it on Collings and Herrin, can't remember which one..

@Sodhats Huh, I didn't know that. I've a ton of respect for Lee, and he seems the type to be perspicacious about his influence on the comedy scene. There's a strong thread (haw) in the Carpet Remnant World show, about his attempts to 'curate' his audience.

Which comedian is he ocking with the toaster joke?

@furQ interesting, although i would say that Lee is a pioneer of this kind of stand up comedy, whereas mcintyre is doing the same kind of material that others have been doing for years before. Perhaps I am biased because i find Stuart Lee very funny but think Michael Mcintrye is awful.
The guy really is a comedic genius.

This series is better than the first, I think.
