A New Moon by TFH - CGI - 2D

A video I made with my Canon HV30 camera and Adobe CS4 software. This is my first HD test with CGI. The Moon is CGI made in 3ds Max. HD footage shot in my garden in England.

Marvelous, how did you mask the leaves and chimney so that the keyed moon appeared behind.?

Thanks, I filmed the trees and stuff on a clear day, so I just keyed out the blue sky in premiere pro CS4 and used a blue colour matte with an opacity of 25% in front of the moon but behind the trees etc. So its all done with only 3 layers.

yes, I thought of adding a ring and small bits floating around the Moon, but I was a bit lazy.

that looks so weird ,, i do think in real life it would leave a crater like the one at the sea of tranquillity, Plus we would be destroyed even if the moon looked like it did in the video cus of the whole gravitational force the moon puts on us. I just ruined the video I ? :-) ,, lol

When I read the title, I thought it was about Earth having a new moon altogether.

Have you seen "The 5th element" film? Earth ends-up with a new moon (approx 2000 km) at the end of it.
