I have a 2002 E320, not a diesel. I spilled a drink into the shift module. the forums on the internet tell me to replace the shift module. What do you think? I cant shift from drive to reverse and vise versa. I turn the car off and back on a couple of times and it works again. Any idea? your video is great.

@xnihpseht cont.. reverse, park & neutral seem to work fine. I´ve checked the oil level and refilled without any changes to the problem. I have a ´89 2,0d with a 5sp manual and if the automatic is beyond repair I´m going for a manual conversion. I REALLY HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP ME!!

Hi, I´d really apriciate some advice regarding a problem that occured on my 1990 w201 2.5 diesel 4 speed automatic today. All of the sudden I seem to have lost 3rd & 4th gear, it will start off in 2nd as usual when in Drive and if I put it in 2 it starts off in 1st but won´t upshift at all. If I drive it and smoothly apply throttle it accelrate normally, but if I give it too much throttle it disengages completely. If I then go to neutral and back into drive it engage into 2nd. Reverse.

Thank you for the video. I hope it solves my extremely hard 1st to 2nd shift. Any thoughts on a very stiff accelerator pedal?
