just came across this gem again. Story I heard is that Piaf wrote the lyrics and then took them to Charles Dumont and "ordered" him to write the music. She could be a tyrant...lol. Although she was very ill, she could still call the shots and get what she wanted. Dumont said he wept the first time he saw her onstage singing this song.

YAy, I fell in love with this songs only a few days ago...because if I was watching Nimegue I started with Billiard electrique (I hope it is written like that) ... I'd love to kiss her hands, she was extraordinary lady! Thank you for sharing this recital...
