I like Spitzer, I hope to see him make a comeback, and it's pretty clear this was a targeted character assassination, but he cracked down fairly hard on prostitution as a public official. If it wasn't for that, I wouldn't have much of an issue. Especially considering the ONLY people he betrayed (his family) wanted him to stay on as governor and fight this thing.
