Everything my band records we record on four track, because the limitations of the technology mean that you have to plan ahead more and just get things RIGHT more or less the first time. Many of the things you do you can't go back and undo or edit the hell out of like you can with Pro Tools. You can't send twenty different mics to twenty different tracks, and you can't edit a dozen different takes together. Yeah, it's harder, but it actually ends up bringing the best out of the band.

Brilliant and informative insight into a current band attempting the almost impossible. I love the Kaiser Chiefs. I loved The Beatles. The final mix of this song as recorded by KC is actually excellent - The limitations of 4-Tk recording are only seen as limitations nowadays. For The Beatles, it was a necessity - For The Kaiser Chiefs - a challenge - one to which they rose and in my opinion, came out sounding very accomplished.
