just want to say it is making that noise because it is defending himself, against a giant with a bit off wood. it is on the floor for a reason, fell from its roost,caught by a predator and got away, or tired and to far from home to make it. bats cannot take off from the floor (well known fact) they drop and swoop and have to be a good 6or so ft in the air to take of, only certain bats carry the rabbies virus (there are only 2 types in england that carry it, out off 18 species

@daveanddian we found it in very early spring and it had crawled into our bacement and fell onto my unsuspecting husband. we keep bat houses and we put him back. we figured he was just confused because it had been a very warm day and when it got cold at night he want back to get warm

LoL, why is it the first thing humans do when they encounter a bat or any small wild animal is to poke it with a stick? I'm not trying to be all animal rights on you but its a phenomena that I have noticed. Fuck, I did it when I found one! I bet everyone here would wither they admit it or not. I mean, you have to assess if its sick, dead, or capable to fly away or not. I am pro-stick!
