the ONLY difference betweena a merc and a soldier is A: who their ultimate boss is and B: soldiers take oaths to their countries, mercs dont. they're not scum or anything like that, they're just guys doing a job.

This interview sums it all up very well. It's not about what does Blackwater or not, it's about power. It's about who is the boss and who has the big balls. And it seems that the Government employees (the so called politicians) are interested to keep their power of influence and not really to get things done properly in the war zones.
