Practising a release which cuts down my axis rotation and allows my ball to go further before hooking. Very useful in pin conversion throwing a plastic ball without changing to my usual palm-up release for spare conversion.
Video is about 1 min long but repeated 3 times because I like the music.

  • I'm fairly new to bowling and do a 2-handed approach, I find the 10-pin to be the hardest for me to get. I'm not sure about my bowling ball's hook-rating but I imagine it's pretty high considering I do the gutter shot (from the right cause i'm left-handed) but I can't seem to figure how to kill the hook. Does your ball have a low hook-rating by chance?

  • @BulISmit I was using a plastic ball, Storm Maxim.

Do you mean the 7-pin instead of 10-pin since you're leftie?

  • @powerbowler I guess it's the 7 pin (one on the farthest left), I'm fairly new to bowling like I said so I might not be up with the terms yet. Only about 4-5 months in but I say I've greatly taken on the sport, but yes, I cannot seem to get the 7th pin as my balls natural hook always kicks in at the end.

  • @BulISmit try using one of the plastic houseballs. If you're still overhooking, then post your vid and I 'll add to my favourites :)

  • good video do you think you could make a backup ball video?

  • @JShoemaker97 I've got some backup shots on this unlisted video

  • @powerbowler haha, you know I was thinking of doing that, they're so greasy though, I imagine eventually i'll have to get a finisher ball with less hook in it? Because the 7 pin is really the only pin i'm having trouble with.

Something else I do as well is I reverse the hook on my ball and it works sometimes, it's a little inaccurate though cause the form is so awkward but i'm still practicing that.
