@bleachno9 Of course you are right-i had a look on wiki and both bands were formed at the same time 1958 but i now wonder if the shads didnt model that distinct hard twang sound from listening to Walk Dont Run by the Ventures-both great bands for sure and i imagine that the ventures are still a big name in the states as the shads are here in england
