In his speech at the dedication ceremony for the TACC Ranger supercomputer, Daniel E. Atkins III, Director, Office of Cyberinfrastructure at the National Science Foundation, talks about what this day means for modern science.
Ranger is the most powerful supercomputing system in the world for open science research. The system was dedicated by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) at The University of Texas at Austin on February 22, 2008.
