I finally had to see what the cult of Mora was about and it seems to be true. I should loan one to my hunting neighbor to see how many deer he can dress with one. haha But In my present state of fixed blade infancy, I am impressed with them and their scandi grind characteristics. I will prolly buy a couple of stainless models at some point to compare for myself. Gotta get some good benchstones first though. The sharpmaker laying down is kinda awkward. here are links to places to buy them www.bensbackwoods.com www.ragweedforge.com and if you're looking for a good kydex sheath you can go here: www.customkydex.com

Edit: Regarding the full tang/partial tang insert. I have read that the full tang is preferred for strength. But in the case of Moras, I've had a couple of dealers tell me that the partial tang Moras are just as strong if not stronger for something like batoning. Supposedly, the partial's use of glue increases the strength, whereas the rivet could come loose on the full ones.

  • Im getting a mora knife #1 and can it be use as a combat knife?

  • @ironknife9111 -I'm sure it could if you trained with it as such, but I think the general consensus would be there are better blades for a combat role like some Kabar models.

  • where can you get these mora knives

  • @TheUV123 - look in the more info section for links :)

  • Im getting the mora #3 and i cant find a review

  • the rough back is traditional in Scandinavian knives. Its also great for striking flint for sparks. just my two cents.

  • Hey,Wanna sell the wood handled one?

  • Stainless vs carbon steel: Unless I'm wrong, most survival types want the 1095 over stainless for fire making reasons. To summarize the two steels:

fire making on a ferro rod. 1095 Great! Sainless Poor!

Sharpening - 1095 Great! Stainless Poor!

Holding edge once sharp - 1095 Great! Stainless Poor!

Rust proof 1095 Poor! Stainless Great!

Stainless steel's anti corrosive properties are why it's popular. For every other practical application, 1095's better. Thanks for the review!

  • Have you tried the clipper? I have smaller hands but I can attest the handle is rather full, offers good grip and has a finger guard of sorts. I like mine a lot.

  • @ironknife9111 Brother - It would be like fighting with a sharpened toothbrush. Save up and get a Kabar, you will be so glad you did.

  • Really like the X-ray vision. Great video.

  • Haha I live in Mora..
