@OmfgShamsor I had to clarify bc of Japan's bishonen, androgyny culture.... where beautiful men replace women in female romance mangas and animes.

it's the same as yuri (femalexfemale) which is made for men. although some have trouble relating to, so they came up with futanari (both genitalia). unlike men, women don't have any projections other than strapons, but for yaoi, women have no problem relating to. once again, i wouldn't consider that GAY.

hentai just means porn.

yaoi is for women by women- with feminine kawaii male and beautiful man; all for the sake of true love (no gay issues presented), easy for women to relate to; not realistic

Boys love (BL) encompasses yaoi and shonen-ai (no intimacy)

june- for women by women but deals with gay issues

gei comi is for MEN by MEN<<<this is gay, literally. it sometimes has bara or masculine men.

...and there are many other subgenres, etc.
