日本人が日本の文化だとか様式を欧米に伝える行為は、一歩間違え
ると大袈裟だったり野暮ったく感じてしまう。それは日本人独特の 自虐史観や欧米文化崇拝がそう感じさせるのだろうが、彼女はそう いう感覚を超越した次元で演技している。ひょっとしたら炭鉱節で も違和感ないのでは。 -
i hate figures...i wish it never had been part of figure skating judging or wish it were a completely separate discipline from figure skating

@will74lsn This was the 80's, and unfortunately, at that time reputation and paying one's dues played a part in the judging.

Even after 20 years later I am amazed at how superior Midori's technical elements were.
How good is the opening "Tano 2 Lutz...watch the entry speed into the 2Loop/3 loop..tremendous elevation & the distance.
All of her spins are what I call "power Spins"
So many of us talk about how great a jumper Midori was but I loved her..layback..camel into a back-camel.. into a back sit spin..huge flying sit spin..power straight line steps and the ending counter turn into the 2 axel..the Best !

最後の出口間違えたところに居た青と白の衣裳の選手にゲンコツされるトコを見ると、他の選手にも好かれていたのかなと思わせる☆
