@darthinfurnus You are wrong. The reason why tigers did not go west of the Middle East is because they need habitats with enough water. Between the Middle East and Africa lie desserts. For tigers, to make it inside Africa would have meant cross the Sahara Dessert, something impossible for this big cat. Lions on the other hand are more adapted to arid environments, that is why they could make it out of Africa.

Many people don't understand that both (tiger and Lion) are super predators and both have advantages and disadvantages when it comes to fighting one another. Now I've seen tigers chasing away Lions and I've also seen lions chasing away Tigers. I say that they both have a 50 / 50 and it depends on how angry the creature is before an actual fight. Usually the most ferocious one ends up beating the less offensive one.

They are talking about asiatic lions on this video which are lighter than african lions,there is not much difference between a male african lion and a male bengal tiger as afr as weight goes,the biggest diffence in a fight between the two,comes down to the warrior factor,a male lion has to fight all the way through its life where as a tiger is a hunter.my money would be on the lion,its power and confidence would shade it,the mane would also help.

Want to know why Lions made it out of Africa as far east as India but Tigers never got further than the middle east? It's because the Lions chased them back east.

guys they are evenly matched but the tiger is advantaged if they make them move in the same space a tiger can kill a lion easily people portray a lion as strong but it is only strong in numbers if i had to choose i would choose a tiger why because a tiger is just a better fighter we are talking about a lion which leaves the hunting to the females and just fights for terratories a tiger protects it's territory and hunts guar the worlds largest cattle and they would cross breed
